Anne Creary Mitchell

Surrounded by her family, Anne Creary Mitchell of Bartlett, TN peacefully entered Heaven on Friday February 5, 2021. Anne leaves her loving husband of 53 years, John H. Mitchell III. Anne was born on May 3, 1946 and was the first of six siblings born to James and Geraldine Creary. Anne graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1964 and attended Memphis State University. She was a loyal Tiger fan. Anne worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation as an accounting manager and retired after thirty-one years of service. Anne also leaves her loving children, Theresa Mitchell Carayiannis (Michael) of Germantown, and son John H. Mitchell IV (Nicole) of Bartlett. She also leaves her greatest treasures, her grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Carayiannis, and step grandchildren Angelyna and Ayden Mallady. She is also survived by her three brothers, Monsignor Edwin Creary, Robert P. Creary of Memphis and Michael A. Creary (Connie) of Knoxville, IA. She also leaves her loving sister Elizabeth M. Creary of Memphis and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Anne was preceded in death by her parents James Edwin Creary, Jr., and Geraldine Garmany Creary, and her brother Hal G. Creary (Tammy). Due to impending weather, services have been re-scheduled as follows: Visitation will be 10:00am Wednesday February 24, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church Bartlett with the Funeral Mass following at 11:00am. Private family burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Please observe COVID-19 protocols of masks and social distancing. The family wishes to thank her caregivers and friends who have been there to help and provide comfort during her illness. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
