Dianne Garner was born May 18, 1949 in Ridgely, Tennessee to the late Ophelia Day and Coleman Garner. She passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dianne attended Memphis State (The University of Memphis). She went on to work as a Paraprofessional in the Language and literature Department at Shelby State Community College. She was later employed as a Critical Care Receptionist at Regional Medical Center at Memphis before working as an Intake Counselor at Memphis Area Legal Services. Dianne will be remembered as being a constant advocate of human dignity. She was soft-spoken, nurturing and kind. In her free time, she loved to read and cook. She enjoyed having long conversations on the phone sharing heartfelt stories gentle guidance that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Dianne is survived by her sister, Sherry N. Day of Allentown, PA; nieces Cynthia Day of Allentown, PA, Dana Day of Catasaqua, PA, Toya Will of Peekskill, NY; nephews, Jermaine Day of Allentown PA, Rodney Day and wife Danielle of Schnecksville, PA; special cousin, Ethelene Span-Swift of Allentown, PA. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of great-nieces, great-nephews cousins and friends. Dianne was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Drummond and nephew, Nevin C. Day.
