Frank Otto Berretta Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Frank Otto Berretta, 92, of Bartlett, TN passed away peacefully Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born on August 1, 1929 in Memphis, TN to Peter and Theresa Berretta. He graduated from Germantown High School, Class of 1947. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve on August 27, 1947, and was honorably discharged July 14, 1959. He was one of the owners at Poplar Tunes Record Shop, founded by Joe Coughi and John Novarese in 1947. He was a long time parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Memphis TN. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing. He will be remembered for his quick witted sense of humor, his smile and laughter, but most of all for his generous heart. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Gerri K. Berretta, father Peter Berretta, mother Theresa Berretta, brother John Joseph Berretta, and his brother in law Karl Kohn. He is survived by his twin step-son’s Ronald Beacham and Donald Beacham, brother Peter Berretta Jr.,(Betty), sister Marie Kohn, niece Beth Gresham (Andy), nephews Mike Kohn (Teresa), and David Kohn (Suzi) great niece Erika Hubbard (Wesley), Linda Kohn and Betsy Kohn, great nephews Charles Kohn and Alden Gresham, great-great nephews Ethan and Henry Hubbard. Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 5:30pm on Wednesday, December 8th at Canale Funeral Directors 2700 Union Ave. Ext. Memphis TN 38112. A funeral Mass Thursday December 9th at 1:30pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 190 Adams Ave. Memphis TN 38103 with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Frank Berretta to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or charity of your choice.
