Margaret Bowen Krausnick
March 26, 1925 - January 20, 2022
Margaret Bowen Krausnick passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2022 at the Trezevant Manor. Margaret was born March 26th, 1925 in Memphis, TN. A lifelong Memphian, she loved her family, the Episcopal church, gardening and her friends. She did not go a day without a smile or a scarf around her neck. She talked often of Snowden Circle, her days at Lausanne, and her memorable times at Ogontz College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she excelled and found her love for fashion. Applying her talents lead her to a fulfilling career at Stein Mart as one of the founders of their original Boutique. For years she loved her Thursday night tennis group dinners at the Memphis Country Club. She was an active past member of the Memphis Garden Club and the Junior League of Memphis. She was a gracious hostess to family and friends. During her time at Trezevant Manor, she took great pride in working at Dottie’s Diggs and enjoyed the weekly happy hour where she could socialize and make new friends. “Mimi Darling” as she was known to all, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great Grandmother. Mimi loved her children, grandchildren and great children with all her heart. She was preceded in death by her brother, Armour Cromwell Bowen, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Krausnick Stout and son, Edward Carl Krausnick Jr. (Veazey); five grandchildren, Megan Stout, William Stout (Ashley), Carol Stout, Elizabeth Malmo (Donnie) and Carl Krausnick; five great-grandchildren, Andy Malmo, Rivers Malmo, Veazey Malmo, Evie Stout and Greta Stout. We want to thank her wonderful caregivers, especially Carolyn Hand and Anthony Littlejohn, for their care and friendship. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3245 Central Avenue, 38111 or the Trezevant Foundation, 177 North Highland Street, 38111.
