Mary Klenk Overton

June 17, 1942 - May 6, 2022

Mary Helen Overton, a life-long resident of Memphis, TN passed away on May 6, 2022 at the age of 79. She was born in Munford, TN on June 17, 1942. She held many jobs throughout her life, with her last one being at Toof’s Printing Company. Mary Helen is survived by her daughter, Libbie Overton, her nieces, Lisa Dettor and Tracy Klenk, a great-niece, Katelyn Dettor (Dalton), a great-nephew Charlie Dettor, two great-great nieces, Elizabeth Reno and Georgia Dettor, and one great-great nephew, Cayden Reno. Mary Helen was devoted to her family and was affectionately called “Grant” as it its short for Great-Aunt. Every holiday or family get-together, she was the main one cooking. She always made sure everyone felt her love. Grant was a member of the Getwell Church of Christ, and attended as many gatherings as possible. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Jessiman, her father, Leonard Klenk, her son, Andy Overton, and her brother, Frank Klenk. There will be a private family viewing at Canale Funeral Directors for the family with graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, TN on Monday, May 9th at 1:30 pm. All friends are welcome to come to the graveside service.
