Robert Ammon Wood Jr.
January 18, 2020
Robert “Bobby” Ammon Wood, Jr. of Memphis, TN passed away at home on January 18, 2020. He was 71 years old. He is survived by Karen, his wife of 27 years. He leaves his son Joshua and daughter-in-law Josey Wood of Oahu, HI and his daughter Sarah and son-in-law Eric Tew of Hartsville, SC. Bobby is also survived by his grandchildren Indi, Jett, Stella, and Savannah. Bobby leaves his sister, Diane Carrio, brothers Rodney and Dan Wood, and beloved nieces and nephews. Bobby had a passion for seeing possibilities where most didn’t. Over his career of 50 years, he transformed many properties in Midtown Memphis into artistic architecture of days gone by. Examples of his talent can be seen all over Midtown. Bobby was a loyal and loving friend. He loved sharing his ideas and expertise. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles. He never saw a Huddle House or good country buffet that he didn’t want to visit. The word “can’t” did not exist in his vocabulary, and he lived his life to the fullest. Even after fighting cancer for so many years he refused to let his life be dictated by illness. He is loved. He is missed. Godspeed, Foofie. A celebration of his life will be scheduled in late spring. In lieu of flowers a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his name would be a blessing.
