Theresa T. West

October 6, 1950 - January 20, 2022

Theresa Tzefakes West, 71, entered eternal life with Christ on January 20, 2022 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her father Paul J. Spera (2000), and she is survived by her mother Helen Y. Spera of Pensacola, FL. Theresa was born in Shreveport, LA, and was the eldest of three girls. She was raised in Memphis and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1968. In 1972, she graduated from Memphis State University earning a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. In her working career, she was an Executive Secretary and an Administrative Assistant for various organizations. After raising her children, Theresa served as a volunteer at the McWherter Senior Center and has been a devout parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over forty years. She loved to travel and was very proud of her 6 weeks tour of Europe hosted by her marketing class at Memphis State. Theresa was an excellent seamstress and made many of her own clothes for the trip including a beautiful coat. She enjoyed music and played both piano and guitar. She loved family sing-a-longs, playing cards, fishing, and a fun trip to the casino. Theresa was a great cook. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Theresa was a trusted listener and confidant. She loved everyone unconditionally without judgment. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. Theresa is survived by her husband Richard Lynn West. Three children: Christina Newell Lashley (David), John Anthony Tzefakes II (Odalis), and Jennifer T Feldman (Jonathan); Grandchildren: Christopher Thomas Hall (Katelyn), Jerald Hunter Quick; Kaitlin Marie Tzefakes, Asston and Harald Fernandez, Alan Sebastian Tzefakes; Abigail Catherine, Oliver Cole, and Elijah Christopher Feldman; Great Grandchild: Ashton River Hall. Theresa is survived by her sisters Paula S. Burton (Andy), Donna M. Spera and niece Angela N. Brown (Chris). A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Theresa Tzefakes West will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 beginning with visitation at 10:30am, a Rosary at 11:30, and the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4851 Park Avenue with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
